Matilda the Musical is officially extending yet agin in the West End! The show playing at The Cambridge Theatre<\/a> is now booking until 5th September 2027!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the book by Roald Dahl and produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Matilda the Musical\u00a0is a heartwarming and whimsical story brought to life. The story follows an extraordinary young girl. She faces neglect and mistreatment at the hands of her shallow and self-absorbed parents. Luckily one day, Matilda<\/a>\u00a0discovers that she has superpowers! She then decides it\u2019s time to teach these grown ups a lesson they will never forget! With a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, we see\u00a0Matilda<\/a>\u00a0take a stand to change her own destiny.\u00a0Comedian Tim Minchin wrote the music for this show with a book by renowned playwright, Dennis Kelly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the show first opened, it became a box office smash hit! It won 7 awards at the 2012 Olivier Awards including \u2018Best New Musical\u2019<\/a>, \u2018Best Director\u2019 and \u2018Best Set Design\u2019. At the time this was the most awards that any one show had won. In total the musical has won 99 international awards!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current adult cast of Matilda<\/a> includes Jon Robyns (Miss Trunchbull), Tiffany Graves (Mrs Wormwood), Neil McDermott (Mr Wormwood) and Eve Norris (Miss Honey). Completing the ensemble are Naomi Alade, Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Alex Louize Bird, Katie Bradley, Millie Brown-Thornton, Reece Budin, Kelly Ewins, William Elijah-Lewis, Antony Lawrence, Nick Len, Tania Mathurin, Ben Middleton, James Oliver, Stuart Rouse, Chloe Saunders, Callum Train and Dawn Williams. The Matilda<\/a>‘s and children’s cast change more frequently and rotate shows as these incredible actors still need to attend real school off the stage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
