What's on at the Victoria Palace Theatre
Billy Elliot is the smash hit British musical currently showing at the Victoria Palace Theatre. It follows the tribulations of star in the making, young Billy Elliot, who dreams of rising above the conventions of his hometown to become a ballet dancer.
The story takes place in the turbulent 1980s, during the time of Margaret Thatcher, unions and civil unrest. Billy is too young to understand confrontation and political upheaval; he only knows he wants to dance and he will fight for his right to do so, even if this means swapping boxing gloves for ballet shoes and squaring up to his Dad and brother.
Billy Elliot is one of the most endearing, uplifting musicals of modern times and continues to thrill audiences at this historic venue in the heart of London’s West End. Get your Billy Elliot tickets with Theatre Bookings and enjoy the show!

History of Victoria Palace Theatre
The Victoria Palace Theatre was built in 1911 for what now seems the small price of £12,000 and following the designs of eminent architect Frank Matcham. The new construction was built on the site of a variety house called the Royal Standard Music Hall – this site had been the home to theatres since the mid-1800s.
One of the early smash hits was the musical Me and My Girl (1937) which ran for well over a thousand performances. This spectacular run was ended by the outbreak of the Second World War.
When peace returned the theatre staged a series of popular revue shows. The Crazy Gang enjoyed a prolonged period of success in residence at the theatre until the 1960s after which the theatre was home to the Black and White Minstrel Show.
In recent history the theatre has witnessed a string of musical hits including Annie (1978) Buddy (1989) and now Billy Elliot.
