Jack Wolfe to star as Orpheus in Broadway’s Hadestown. The WhatOnStage Winner and West End Star is making his Broadway debut this autumn

Jack Wolfe to star in Hadestown has officially been confirmed after rumors circulating on x after they followed the account. He is set to take on the role of Orpheus from Ali Louis Bourzgui on the 2nd of Spetember. Although he will not be performing from the 9th to the 21st of September. All 5 of the principle cast will be changing marking the first time for this show since 2019.

The current West End cast includes Dylan Wood as Orpheus and Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice. West End’s Hadestown has also famously allowed actors to keep their native accents for the role which is where the nicknames of ‘Corkeus’ referring to Donal Finn the first irish Orpheus. It will be fascinating to see how Wolfe steps into this role. And whether this marks the start of the Broadway production also bringing in a range of accents to the show.
West End Transfer of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry
That’s not the only news though! There has also been an announcement of a new transfer to the West End. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry is set to transfer next year following a successful run at the Chichester Festival Theatre. Wolfe starred in the show as the Balladeer. But casting for the transfer is not confirmed although many are hoping he will reprise his role like they did for Gabe in Next to Normal when it transferred to the Wyndhams.
This was announced by Passenger who wrote the music for the show. He also teased at a potential cast album and has released the first song in relation to the musical “countryside” which features Jack.
