Several of the biggest romance franchises of all time are coming to the West End in the next six months!

One Day

First up is One Day the Musical, which will open on the 17th of November at the Garrick Theatre.

This story is brought to life like never before One Day – The Musical, capturing the intensity of youthful romance, the moments that define us forever, and the enduring hope that love will find its way.

This is based on a 2009 book of the same name by David Nicholls. The book won both popularity and accolades, and in 2010 it took the Galaxy Book of the Year award. The following year, filmmakers adapted it into a film starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. Readers have rediscovered the story in recent years: Netflix released a limited series in 2024, and now the characters are ready to sing their way into your hearts in the first stage adaptation!

Dirty Dancing

Next up is Dirty Dancing, opening at the Prince Edward Theatre on the 19th of January.

Seen by millions across the globe this worldwide smash hit tells the classic story of Baby and Johnny. Two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives. You’re sure to have the ‘Time of Your Life’ this winter!

The Notebook

Finally, it has just been announced that The Notebook will be coming to the newly named Judi Dench Theatre (formerly the Shaftsbury Theatre) next March!

Meet Allie and Noah. Born into two different worlds. Pulled apart, but always finding a way back. Theirs is a love story that lasts a lifetime. A story of dancing in the rain, the almost kiss, and keeping the faith every single day.

If you’re looking for a cozy romantic night at the theatre, time to grab your partner (or your pal!) and grab a ticket to one of these new shows!
